PROJECT 2B: SINGLE-PARENT FAMILY COMMUNITY CENTRE
In the final project of studio 4, we are required to design a community support center which is mainly focusing on the single parent families at our previous site. The community center is to be 2-3 storeys high, approximately 900sqm in floor area size and each spaces are being arranged in a clustered form.
Concept: Sparks of Hope
Hopelessness, demotivation, and distrust of single-parent families towards the general public, are no doubt attributable to the demoralising stories of their lives. Needing support from the community and public, this community centre aims to revitalise the single parent families by encouraging them to take part in beneficial programmes to escape from their daily life context, and engaging with the general public to experience the kindness of others in the community centre as an encapsulation of positivity, rekindling sparks of hope into their lives.
