THE RED COTYLEDON
A Gift From Mother Earth, to Mars

Our mother Earth has been nurturing us alone since 4.54 billion years ago from its formation. Now she yearns for a companion to accompany her in nurturing her children, to continue providing a safe and sound home for us. We hear her request, therefore we set our quest to search for our father -- Mars. Mars is the closest planet to our mother, and it shares certain similarities with her, hence making him the best companion for our mother. However, the current Mars has fallen ill, suffering from ‘dry skin’ and ‘blocked nose’. As such, we prepared a cure for him, known as The Red Cotyledon. It is a sincere gift from us, as an invitation for him to join the journey of nurturing our mother’s intellectual species. The Red Cotyledon is an ambition proposal that intends to terraform Mars one step at a time. From serving as a livable research pod for researchers, to transforming into an sustainable architecture for the Martian race to inhabitat, it attempts to restore the atmosphere of Mars to a thickness that will create suitable atmospheric pressure for water to exist as liquids, hence allowing signs of life to exist. At the same time, it restores the fertility of the soil so that in the future, plants will be able to grow on Mars. The Red Cotyledon will be constructed in several phases, slowly adapting to the environment of Mars and eventually, bringing Mars back to live.
