Soar:

The soaring gazebo is designed to open and welcoming to its occupants as they can place their bicycles or a break from activities to admire their natural surrounding with a touch of patriotic experience. Its double roofing feature mimics the beak and the casque of the rhinoceros horn bill looking on with pride. Its skeletal body makes it appear light and floating. Its vertical rods add to the hollowness and details as the support structure, then spreading out widely into its wings, which cast more shade over its occupants below it. as the occupants travel up its spine, they feel slightly compressed in the middle but then relieved as they reach on the top landing overlooking the horizon, like how the people of the pre-independence Malaysia feel suppressed by foreign power and then released and free in the end.

Pearch:

Perch means a resting place of a bird. in this context, this gazebo is a secured enclosed place for privacy of the occupants to take a step back and reflect on one’s life.  Its form even takes after how the bird is oriented when perched. It follows the dynamic curves and arches, sprouting from within the central area, safely secured to the ground. Like the soaring gazebo, it also features double roofing, which functions to transport falling rainwater from its roof to the ground. its ‘tail’ rest on the ground, its form a facility for the users to park their bikes, increasing space utility.
