FAMOUS ARCHITECTS, FABULOUS HOUSES – DIAGRAMMATIC ABSTRACTION
This assignment allowed us to investigate how spaces are created from the making of architectural elements: architectonics - solid, planes, lines and frames. Upon completion of the assignment we have achieved a level of understanding on the works assigned and are be able to apply the idea and concept in the subsequent project. We were required to use pure and diagrammatic models to express the architectural idea in this assignment.

For this assignment, we were given a house to analyse, which is the Andrew Road House by SCDA Architects. One of the problems we had faced was the difficulty of getting the orthographic drawings of the house in order to start analyzing. Through this assignment, we have learnt how to analyse the architectural work selected by the architect and also identify the architectural style of the architect. Most importantly, we are able to understand basic architectural compositions of solids, planes, lines and frames.
